Competiton

Over the next five weeks I will be working on a competition brief set by Bradford Textile Society, which I am to create a - 'Printed interiors textile design for the domestic market. The design should be drawn in repeat, using no more than 16 colours and should be suitable for printing onto a 54” wide fabric, by the rotary screen method. - The design should be suitable for domestic curtains, cushions or fabric blinds, and the proposed end use must be clearly indicated.'

For this brief I have chosen to use the idea of typography, because there is almost no boundaries of how typography can be used and manipulated. With this in mind, i have chosen two artists from the Dada movement, where I think the most experimental typography took place. For example:
